I was looking on the 'a snail a day!' blog and saw this fantastic idea for drawing a snail on a grain of rice. Well I do a turtle a day, so obviously I wouldn't be completely copying because I drew a turtle! I have managed to get names onto grains of rice before so I thought a turtle would be very easy. How wrong I was. It took me four tries (you can see my failed attempts in the background) and Hubby was coaching me on the last attempt.
Can you see the little turtle in there? I decided to add some green beads and make it into a necklace.
Again with help from Hubby. I was having glue issues. So was he! Haha, he almost glued himself to the lid. Luckily, everything worked out in the end and now I have a new necklace.

Wow! Amazing.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I'm glad your husband was able to free himself!
awesome! it turned out so cute!!! where did you get the little vial to make it into a necklace? i want to do the same.
ReplyDeleteIf he didn't free himself, that would make a really awkward necklace!
ReplyDeleteHeidi, I am fortunate to have a friend who has a business making jewelry and she sneaks me into an amazing wholesale warehouse from time to time. Sorry I can't be a better help.
This is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHi Ange,
ReplyDeleteThis is really cute. Love the tiny turtle!
I also live in Toronto and was wondering where you get your Deco Art Triple Thick Gloss Glaze?
I cannot find it anywhere (downtown). Any suggestions? I am in Toronto too :)
Thanks!

What kind of paint did you use for this? I always wanted to try this. It came out good.
ReplyDeleteI have a special pen that came with a kit I bought ages and ages ago, but I have played with it and have learned that an ultra-fine Sharpie works well too. It is a bit thicker than my pen. Experiment with it. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat even. You crazy woman.
