#107 Bone Turtle Bead

I received a totally amazing gift from a friend this week.  She carved this little turtle herself out of some elk bone she had been given.  It is roughly the size of a penny.   I have a plan for this bead but it is going to take me a while to put my plan into action and I have been dying to share this fabulous little guy.  Hopefully the idea I have in my head for this turtle will work out in real life.  :)
Isn't it fantastic? Pin It

  1. Hand carved? Wow.

It's so sweet! And, definitely deserving of big plans. :)

  4. It still counts as "hand-carved" if you are using a tool (handheld tool!!) right Misha? I thin it does. I think it is a one-of-a-kind too because she didn't like the way it smelled as she was carving it. (Yes, I sniffed it after learning that. It doesn't smell now)
I love that she made it for me too!!! I'm going to go out tomorrow hopefully and pick up what I think I need to give this guy a good home.

  5. That is the cutest thing I have seen all week, I do believe. It would be neat to see a set of these, all different kinds of turtles or animals. Do I see carving in your future possibly?
