#160 Two Turtles Revisited

My kids were laughing their heads off  at the state of my two balloon turtles.  I saved them just to see what would happen to them.  I thought you might get a giggle too so they are both my turtle for today.

The first one is my 25th turtle, posted on February 17th.  As you can see, it is a little sad now.  I didn't place it on my wrist for the second photo because I was afraid that the turtle might pop or something tragic like that.

The second one is what has become of my 42nd turtle, posted on March 6.  My oldest thinks it looks a little more like a real turtle now.

#159 Bubble Turtle

My plan for today was to make a coooooooollll turtle using some "touchable bubbles".  Touchable bubbles are not supposed to  pop easily and you (theoretically) can handle them.  I had a vision of an adorable little turtle made out of bubbles.

It didn't work.

I was outside for at least half an hour making a bubbly mess.  This was the best turtle I could do:

So I smooshed the bubble goo around on the table to make a turtle shape.

I added some eyes with picnik in case you can't see it.  :)

Then, after dinner the girls and I went out and blew a few million bubbles and took a gazillion pictures.
One dollar VERY well spent, in my opinion!  Even if I didn't get the cooooolllll turtle I wanted!

#158 Happy Canada Day!

Today is Canada Day and we couldn't ask for better weather.  Blue skies and sunshine.  Not too hot, and a slight breeze to make our flags fly.  :)
I hope Monday is just as beautiful for my American friends. Pin It

#157 Throw-Away Turtle (mostly)

The girls use plastic, disposable cutlery in their lunch bags for school.  They get a lot of mileage out of a $1 bag of cutlery (8 each of forks, knives and spoons) because we wash and reuse them.  They have been working on the purple ones for over a year now and are down to very little so I picked some pink ones up a while ago.  Add that to a plastic plate and little bowl and ta-da, a new turtle is born.  (The bowl is a keeper and the reason I added "mostly" to the title.)

#156 Breakfast Turtle

I made this one this morning because I knew that I would be distracted today.  So distracted that I forgot to post this after I took it!
Today is the last day of school for my thirteen year old, (her sister was done last week) and to celebrate all of them being "promoted to grade eight" she has a bunch of friends over.  Hubby and I will be starting the barbecue soon.

Here is my breakfast.  Sort of. I added an egg and rearranged the cheese before eating it.  :)
